I always have a butter dish in my collections, they just feel like such a lovely think to use and have. This particular design has been thrown in one piece, before I take it off the wheel I dig a groove in that will later serve as the joining section of the two pieces. I then slice into it when turning and voila a beautifully fitting lid and base.
